The Family Resource Center at Friends Hospital provides information, literature, training, programs, and consultation for family members with a loved one who is mentally ill.

Immediate Support
Trained staff familiar with mental illness affecting a relative or themselves operate the center. Someone will listen to you and help you obtain helpful information and/or appropriate resources and contacts.

Information
The FRC has information about serious mental illness and psychiatric disorders, psychiatric medications, support groups, and resources in the community-and much more.

Video Showings
Videotapes can be viewed upon request at the FRC. They include dramatizations about mental illness in the family, documentary testimony about ECT, schizophrenia, depression, bipolar as well as instructional information about communication with a person who is hallucinating-and much more.

Lending Library
The FRC library has books about depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, borderline personality, OCD and Alzheimer’s. Books about medications, and inspirational books are included in the selection.

  • All Services are FREE.
  • Only three articles will be mailed. You may visit the FRC to obtain additional articles.
  • Open 12 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 12 to 4 p.m. Friday.
