Friends Hospital Staff earn CBT certifications from Beck Community Initiative

Staff from Friends Hospital, Community Behavioral Health, and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services gathered on June 13 to recognize three hospital social workers who completed their certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) through the hospital’s partnership with the Beck Community Initiative. Cierra Andrews, Sarah Washington, and Leah Lloyd (pictured with Beck Community Initiative staff member Dr. Michael Williston) completed classroom training, team consultation, and supervised practice in CBT techniques to earn their certifications. CBT is an evidence-based form of therapy which has been shown to be effective for a wide range of clinical conditions in many different settings. By earning these certification, Friends Hospital’s social workers demonstrate their commitment to quality care and continued professional development.
