On 100 beautiful acres in Northeast Philadelphia stands Friends Hospital, one of America’s oldest hospitals and the first private non-profit institution in the country, founded exclusively to help persons with mental illness. When people come onto the grounds of Friends Hospital, we want them to feel that they have left the city and entered a quiet refuge where the process of healing the mind has taken place for centuries.
Our admissions department is available 24/7 to provide a confidential assessment for you or your loved one.
Our Services
Our adolescent programs provide psychiatric treatment and support to individuals ages 13 to 17 so they can begin to identify challenges, better handle frustrations and develop constructive behaviors.
Adult treatment programs at Friends Hospital are designed to help individuals ages 18 to 65 understand their condition and develop healthy alternative behaviors.
Friends Hospital has offered care specific to the psychiatric needs of senior adults for more than 30 years, and was one of the first behavioral health facilities in the country to offer specialized senior care.
Greystone Residential is a long-term community residence designed to meet the special treatment needs of individuals with severe and persistent mental health disorders.
Friends Hospital recognizes that members of the LGBTQ community have unique healthcare needs, and we have worked hard to ensure that our policies and practices are welcoming and affirming for our LGBTQ patients.
