Friends Hospital Appoints New Chief Nursing Officer

PHILADELPHIA—February 29, 2016—Friends Hospital is delighted to announce the appointment of Belkys Teodor-Mazilu, RN, BSN, MHA, as its new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) effective February 29, 2016.

Ms. Teodor-Mazilu is a people-oriented nurse leader who is deeply committed to patient care excellence, clinical quality, and customer service. Most recently, she was a Director of Patient Care Services at Jackson Health System in Miami, Florida, a position she held since 2011; and she brings to Friends her high-energy and passion for building and leading high-performing teams. Ms. Teodor-Mazilu has dedicated most of her professional nursing career serving and advocating for the needs of vulnerable patient populations and their families in various healthcare settings, especially those individuals with mental illness and people within the criminal justice system.

Ms. Teodor-Mazilu will be responsible for overseeing the professional nursing practice at Friends Hospital by ensuring the provision of safe, patient-centered and high-quality round-the-clock psychiatric nursing care. She received her BSN from Fairleigh Dickenson University and her Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Florida Atlantic University.
