Behavioral Health Programs

Friends Hospital, located in Philadelphia, PA, offers behavioral health programs and services individualized to each patient’s age and specific needs. We have been providing psychiatric treatment for centuries and are the nation’s oldest private psychiatric care facility. Our behavioral health facility offers beautiful rural scenery in the middle of an urban setting and a peaceful setting for recovery.

The program to which a patient is admitted is determined by the results of a confidential assessment given at admission. Our admission staff is available 24/7 to schedule and conduct assessments.

Individualized Approach to Recovery

By creating an empathetic and accepting atmosphere, the experienced clinicians at Friends Hospital help patients identify problems that prevent them from living fuller, more productive lives. Each patient’s personal goals are integrated into the treatment plan, which emphasizes support systems, strengths and community connections.

This recovery-oriented focus, in collaboration with the skills of a multidisciplinary treatment team, guides each patient to make better choices and helps them return to an optimal level of functioning.

Multidisciplinary Treatment Team

Friends Hospital guides patients on the path toward self-discovery and healthy choices using a variety of treatment approaches. Our multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, registered nurses, psychologists, social workers, expressive arts therapists, certified addiction counselors and other mental health professionals. We work closely with individuals and families to create a cohesive and meaningful experience for each patient.

Each patient is an integral member of their own treatment team and participates in the development of individual goals for healthy living. Families receive education to help them support their loved ones on their personal journey to wellness.
